Project Overview
We are seeking observers to report their sightings of insect pest species that cause harm to forest and agricultural trees. Your observations as part of this campaign will help validate and improve the USA-NPN's Pheno Forecasts, which help managers know when these species are active and susceptible to treatment.

How to Participate
Join Nature's Notebook and select one or more insect species from the list to track. Observe the presence and absence of the insects ideally 2-3 times per week during their active season, and log your data in Nature's Notebook. Need help getting started? Take the Observer Certification Course or Pheno Forecast Learning Modules for select species available on our learning website.
If you see Asian longhorned beetle or Spotted Lanternfly, please report them immediately to USDA APHIS.
